An exciting opportunity exists for a Head of Department - English to join the Leadership Team at North Rockhampton State High School. This is a permanent position commencing Term 2 2024. We are seeking a suitable applicant who will be an active member of the North Rockhampton SHS school community, supporting the delivery of improved outcomes for all students. You will work proactively to improve the academic, social and emotional outcomes for students working collaboratively across the school with students, parents, teachers, support staff and community organisations. At North Rockhampton SHS you will be part of a growing learning community where you will be inspired to achieve success and perform to your potential. Free accommodation can be arranged for the first 12 months through the Education Department's Concierge service.

North Rockhampton State High is a large Band 10 coeducational school situated in the centre of North Rockhampton. The school has an extensive range of curriculum offerings, one of the largest in the Rockhampton district, with growing flexibility for students in the senior phase.

About The Role

As the Head of Department - English, you will be a skilled instructional leader with strong organisational skills and English expertise. You will lead curriculum in line with strategic vision and develop school planning, with a focus on quality teaching and learning for improved student achievement.
