The City of Launceston, an award winning Employer of Choice, is currently seeking to fill the following position:

Position Title: Authorised Nurse Immuniser (Casual)

Position Number: POS0944

In this position you will work as part of the immunisation team to administer vaccinations to all eligible age groups including infants, children, adolescence, and adults in accordance with Council's public health immunisation programs.

You will be involved in all aspects of the vaccination program including ordering vaccine and equipment, assessment, consent, management of the cold chain, adverse effects and reporting. Accurate and confidential administration and record keeping is also an essential part of this role.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates, through behaviour, an alignment and an understanding of our values and has the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of legal responsibilities relating to immunisation service provision
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills including communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Current Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration as a registered nurse
  • Current authorisation as an Authorised Nurse Immuniser in Tasmania, with recent and regular experience in the immunisation of infants, children, adolescents and adults
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate (infants and adults) and is competent to manage and report an Adverse Event Following Immunisation (AEFI)
  • Current drivers licence
  • Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration
  • Must be available on Wednesdays
