So, what's the role?

We're seeking an experienced Procurement Coordinator to bolster our procurement processes and shape the future of sustainable procurement practices within our council. As our Procurement Coordinator, you'll be the key link connecting the council with suppliers and stakeholders, providing advice and support on procurement matters. Working within Corporate Services, your role will involve developing processes that align with our sustainability objectives, enabling us to make tangible progress towards our goals.

Here’s what a typical day might look like as our Procurement Coordinator:

• Engaging with stakeholders to understand and address their procurement needs
• Procuring insurance services and overseeing the procurement module
• Championing the development of sustainable procurement practices
• Negotiating contracts and managing tendering processes
• Partnering with internal departments to streamline procurement processes and drive efficiencies.

If you're someone with procurement experience who loves tackling challenges and driving sustainable practices, then this could be the role for you.

To Succeed In This Role, You'll Need

• Solid experience in procurement, including contract negotiations and tendering processes (we’d love to hear that you’ve managed a variety of contracts).
• Ideally, previous experience in local government procurement is preferred, but not essential (you're still welcome to apply even without local government procurement experience—we value diverse professional backgrounds).
• Demonstrated success in implementing sustainable procurement practices and knowledge of ISO 20400 'Sustainable Procurement' will be considered a huge asset, however is not essential.
