Senior Finance Officer - APS 6

About The Role

As the APS 6 in Financial Operations, you will play a critical role in the financial operations within the ACMA and will assist under limited direction to provide support across the following ACMA activities:

  • overseeing day-to-day processing of operational tasks which include but are not limited to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payment Card Administration as required
  • assisting with the timely completion of daily, monthly reconciliation processes
  • ensuring service level timeframes are delivered on receiving operational requests
  • managing allocated caseloads and tasks through to completion
  • identifying and escalating more complex issues to ensure timely resolution
  • assisting with compiling financial accounting and management reports, including undertaking compliance audit and reporting on credit cards
  • administration of Official Hospitality, Gifts, Benefits and Business Catering quarterly reporting
  • contributing to the annual review and/or implementation of user guides and/or standard operational procedures
  • any other duties as required or agreed to with the manager/supervisor
  • providing support to junior staff in the team and the wider section where required to ensure timely delivery of key section priorities

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Finance Officer who:

  • Gathers information on issues and analyses this systematically and logically for area of responsibility and consider wider agency implications to foster and support Section/Branch/ACMA goals and objectives to meet assigned outcomes.
  • Takes personal responsibility for meeting objectives and progressing own work and work of others.
  • Monitors, reviews, and evaluates team and individual performance, provides and accepts regular feedback and remains positive and responds to pressure in a calm manner.
  • Exemplifies a healthy and safe working environment, modelling and promoting ethical behaviour and practices consistent with the APS Code of Conduct.
