The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) part of the Parkville Precinct and is one of Australia's leading public hospitals, providing a comprehensive range of specialist medical, surgical, and mental health services, as well as rehabilitation, aged care, specialist clinics and community programs.
RMH is seeking a Business Intelligence Data Analyst to join our Health Intelligence team. You'll be part of our reporting and analytics team, working to enhance data-driven decision-making capabilities and expand analytical excellence throughout RMH. This role involves developing reports and dashboards, servicing ad-hoc data requests, and providing data analytics support to tell stories that drive improvement.

Business Intelligence Data Analyst

- Full-time, 18-month fixed-term role in the Health Intelligence team
- Develop Power BI dashboards and reports for stakeholders across the organisation
- Support data-driven decisions through insights and ad-hoc analysis

- Develop Power BI reports and dashboards used by stakeholders across the organization
- Handle ad-hoc data requests and add value to raw data with analysis and visualizations
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to identify requirements and advise on data solutions
- Ensure provision of accurate data by testing data prior to release and responding to user queries
- Assist with day-to-day operations and administration of data assets
About you:
- Tertiary qualification in data science, data analytics, computer science, programming, statistics, business analytics, or other relevant field
- Experienced with SQL queries and expert Excel user with pivot tables and lookups
- Experienced with Microsoft Power BI for creating reports and dashboards
- Strong experience communicating with end users and attention to detail for data quality
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with initiative to follow through tasks
- Prior work at a healthcare organization
- Experience with building reports, especially with SSRS
- Experience with other Microsoft BI stack tools like SSRS, SSIS, SSAS
- Other programming experience and data modelling methodologies
