Where will you be working?

We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.

This role will be within our Metering team, you’ll join the leading provider of metering services and data collection in the UK energy retail sector, we provide efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity and water meters.

Our meter engineers install, maintain and manage meters to make sure customers are billed correctly and energy usage patterns are monitored. We leverage our industry expertise and data insight capabilities to create solutions that fit the needs of our customers.

Reporting to the Logistics and Fleet Manager the Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring all engineers within our Smart Metering business have all of the assets, equipment, tools & PPE they require to achieve our performance goals, whilst driving cost efficiencies and managing internal and external relationships. This role is a fantastic opportunity, ideally for someone with a logistic or planning background, to really make a difference within the business. We are looking for a forward thinking, inquisitive individual who is always looking to continuously improve processes and identify cost savings within the organisation. The role is office based in our Head Office in Newcastle working either 8am - 4pm or 9am - 5pm. There may be occasions where Saturday working is required and a day off through the week will be provided.

What will you be doing?

  • Working with our Planning & Onboarding teams, ensure every new hire is properly equipped and set up for a smooth and effective start
  • Manage all Logistics related leaver activity in order to minimise costs. E.g. missing equipment
  • Process all field orders for stock & equipment.
  • Ensure accuracy of asset reporting to customers.
  • Maintain relevant warehouse stock levels
  • Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers, ensuring best pricing & benchmarking is maintained.
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting.
  • Provide Logistics support to other Energy Division functions as necessary (i.e. PPE etc)

What You’ll Bring

  • Previous experience in a logistic or planning role is essential
  • Efficient with MS Excel to an advanced level
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise
  • Positive attitude to all tasks being motivated and proactive
  • The ability to look for continual improvements and have the confidence to suggest new ways of working
  • Good judgement and able to make good decisions in limited timescales
  • Strong problem solving abilities
  • Strong client and customer focus
