The reason for this role:

The Project Delivery Lawyer will be responsible for managing legal risk and providing legal advice to support Goldwind Australia’s (GWA) commercial and construction transactions related to its renewable energy projects.

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Legal, this role will work collaboratively with other legal team members and the broader business to ensure GWA’s operations comply with legal requirements. It will also play a key role in protecting GWA’s interests by delivering clear, practical, and strategic legal guidance.

What you will be doing?

  • Provide legal advice to the relevant project delivery team on the management, compliance and legal risks associated with the upstream and downstream commercial and construction agreements for each project (including supporting the finalisation, approval and execution of supplemental and associated contracts).
  • Manage any legal disputes arising related to those upstream or downstream commercial and construction agreements.
  • Draft, negotiate, advise on and settle a broad range of downstream commercial and construction agreements and transactions related to its renewable energy projects.
  • Attend contract discussions and negotiations with internal stakeholders / customers / suppliers as required.
  • Co-ordinate and oversee external law firms providing technical advice on these matters and manage their costs whilst building and maintaining strong working relationships.

What does your background look like?

  • A degree qualification in Law and a current practising certificate in Australia.
  • 4 (+) years’ post-qualification legal experience gained either in private practice or in-house.
  • Proven legal and commercial experience in managing & negotiating commercial and construction transactions within the energy and/or infrastructure sector.
  • Previous experience within the renewable energy industry would be highly regarded, particularly involving wind farm projects.
  • Experience across both front-end and back-end aspects of construction contracts would also be highly regarded.
