Presales Solutions Consultant Overview

Our commercial sales professionals of Account Executives and Account Managers rely on proactive technical support during the sales process and our expert Presales Solution Consultant team is there to assist. Our Boomi SCs follow a prescriptive technical sales cycle and engagement model, focusing on effectiveness and efficiency. Our SC team is viewed as and treated more than just a technical resource. Rather, our SCs are considered valuable partners throughout the sales journey and help to build trust with our stakeholders and prospects.

As a Presales Solutions Consultant, you will help provide pre-sales technical support to our field sales teams throughout the sales process. This includes tasks such as account and prospect research, collaborative discovery and needs analysis, formulating a technical strategy and win-team, executing on that strategy and ultimately getting the technical win.

Job Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead technical discovery and consultative pre-sales engagements with prospective customers.
  • Design solution strategies across Boomi's portfolio of integration, data management, API management and AI.
  • Deliver tailored product demonstrations and technical presentations to both technical and business audiences.
  • Partner with Account Executives and Solution Architects to craft compelling proposals that highlight business value and ROI.
  • Support RFIs/RFPs and Proof-of-Concept activities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor throughout the sales cycle as well as supporting trade shows, webinars and workshops.
  • Work with Boomi's Partners to help them position the Boomi platform to their customers.
  • Stay current on AI trends, LLM-based tooling, competitive offerings, Boomi platform innovations, as well as general customer and industry trends.

Required Skills and Experience

Essential
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to relate technical features to business impact and value.
  • Technical aptitude and problem-solving mindset, ideally with exposure to integration, data management, API management and AI platforms.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills; comfortable engaging executives, developers, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-starter who thrives in collaborative, cross-functional teams and dynamic environments.

Preferred
  • 5-10 years in presales, solutions consulting, sales engineering, or technical sales roles—preferably in SaaS or iPaaS organizations.
  • Familiarity with:
  • Integration patterns, messaging queues, and middleware concepts
  • APIs and API Management, including Federated API Management
  • Data pipeline and orchestration tools
  • Managed File Transfer (MFT) protocols and use cases
  • AI and LLM-based applications: familiarity with prompt engineering, RAG, vector search, or agent-based automation
  • Experience in value-based selling methodologies.
  • Exposure to basic scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript or Groovy).

  • Must be located in Sydney or Melbourne
  • Valid Australian work visa required if applicable
