What are we looking for?
Our Data and Analytics team is now seeking a Modelling Analyst (Data Science/AI). In this role, you’ll apply machine learning and AI to solve meaningful business challenges - designing and deploying advanced models (e.g. LLM finetuning, CatBoost, Random Forest), and building innovative in-house AI solutions tailored to the legal sector.
While having a core focus on model development and AI, you’ll collaborate across the full solution life cycle including data wrangling, stakeholder management, platform development, Azure cloud and more to bring data science ideas to life. Success will come from thriving in a dynamic environment, adapting to new technologies, engaging with stakeholders across the business to build alignment, and delivering measurable impact with every solution.
This is a fixed term contract position based in our Melbourne Office. We offer a flexible work environment where you can spend your time between home and office.
Day to day responsibilities will include:
Machine Learning
- Develop, train, fine-tune, and deploy robust machine learning models to address specific business challenges.
- Oversee the complete MLops lifecycle including deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and ongoing optimisation of models.
Generative AI Development
- Design, implement, and integrate large language models (LLMs) within business applications.
- Develop and enforce robust controls for LLMs such as structured output formatting, logging, and monitoring to ensure reliability, security, and compliance.
Data Wrangling & Engineering Collaboration
- Perform data preparation, cleansing, transformation, and validation to support analytics and AI initiatives.
- Partner with data engineering teams to design, implement, and optimise effective data pipelines for scalable, reliable production deployment.
Platform & Application Development
- Build and enhance the backend components of our in-house AI platform(s).
- Collaborate closely with technical and product teams to continuously improve platform functionality, user experience, and integration capabilities.
Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with stakeholders to identify needs, manage expectations, and gather feedback throughout the project lifecycle.
What will you bring?
It is essential that you have the relevant qualifications, experience, skills and capabilities, these include:

- Python (advanced)
- Machine Learning (end-to-end)
- Cloud platform experience
- 3+ years data science experience

- Effective verbal and written communication
It would also be highly desirable if you had the following experience, skills and capabilities:
