About the Role

The Branch is looking to fill an ongoing APS 5 Policy and Administrative Support Officer role in the Spectrum Licensing Policy Section.

In particular, you will provide vital administrative support which includes handling queries and applications, keeping timely and accurate records, and maintaining standard operating procedures. You will manage the day-to-day support for customers who apply to become an accredited assessor, obtain a call sign, or attain a qualification.

You will assess documentation to ensure documents such as application forms and examinations have been completed and conducted correctly. You will also be responsible for managing communications with licensees and work closely with the Customer Service Centre, the agency’s central point of contact for managing customer enquiries.

As a Policy and Administrative Officer, you will help inform strategic and policy direction on work associated with the spectrum management functions, projects and activities undertaken by SLPS. You will be expected to collaborate with technical, legal, and regulatory experts, as well as engage with a variety of stakeholders, including government and spectrum users.

In this role you will:

  • provide operational and administrative support for the effective delivery of examinations, qualifications and call signs
  • respond to and resolve customer enquiries and applications
  • perform research and/or analysis that contributes to policy development
  • assist with preparing various written work, including correspondence, reports, briefs, discussion papers on legislation and policy issues relevant to the work of the Section
  • develop relationships and work in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, responding to stakeholder needs and queries.
