We have a 3 month role of Camera Operator/Editor based in our Salvo Studios at Redfern.

Join The Salvation Army internal video team, creating video content with social impact.


The Camera Operator/Editor handles filming and editing video content which supports the mission of The Salvation Army. The role reports to the Senior Producer and works with an experienced team of video professionals on a wide range of productions from client testimonies, social media, internal and fundraising content. Based in our newly renovated Redfern studio space.


The key focus of the role includes:

  • Filming video content including on location stories, interviews, and studio shoots
  • Responsible for all aspects of filming including audio recording, lighting and editing, at times independently or working with production team
  • Editing engaging stories and corporate videos
  • Working in a fast paced and varied environment
  • Management of digital archives
  • Travel and out of office hours work required


Key capabilities include:

  • Must be highly organised, have a great attitude and an efficient time manager
  • A great communicator and enthusiastic team player
  • Strong proficiency using Adobe Creative Cloud and DaVinci Resolve
  • Demonstrated ability to operate video cameras (Blackmagic URSA or similar)
  • Demonstrated ability to operate lighting and audio equipment


Qualifications and Mandatory Requirements

  • Appropriate technical knowledge from either formal vocational training or relevant professional experience.
  • Interest in producing Christian and social justice content preferred
  • A valid working with children check
  • A valid driver's licence and own car preferred
  • National police check
  • Minimum 5 years' experience filming and editing a range of videos, including unscripted content
  • ESSENTIAL - Ability to give 3 examples of previous work filmed and edited solely by you
