About The Role
We’re seeking a results-driven Production Manager to lead our manufacturing operations in Liverpool, NSW. This role is responsible for delivering outcomes aligned with Prysmian’s ambitious continuous improvement targets, while managing production crews and operational efficiencies to meet key performance indicators. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible manufacture of high-quality products across a 24-hour operation.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, you’ll oversee all aspects of production planning, safety, quality, learning and development, and performance, while directly managing machine operators and supporting lean manufacturing initiatives.

About The Role

What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead production teams to meet output, safety, quality, and cost targets across a 24-hour operation
- Drive continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives to meet stretch KPIs
- Ensure compliance with HSEQ standards, lead incident reporting, and support injury management
- Oversee product quality, root cause investigations, and corrective actions in collaboration with the Quality team
- Support sustainability initiatives aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals
- Manage production planning, schedule adherence, and inventory compliance
- Partner with Supply Chain to optimise delivery performance and reduce costs
- Monitor and report on key metrics including OEE, DIFOT, cost of poor quality, and labour/material efficiency
- Lead and engage teams in problem-solving, training, and 6S housekeeping practices
- Control fixed and variable costs, support budget preparation, and ensure financial compliance
- 5+ years in management roles within a manufacturing environment, ideally in heavy industry
- Strong operational, team leadership, and customer-focused mindset
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, GMP, and regulatory compliance
- Experience with Quality Assurance and Health, Safety & Environmental systems
- Demonstrated success in managing high-performance teams and lean manufacturing projects
- Excellent problem-solving skills, including general engineering and equipment maintenance
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills
- Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost control
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to adapt to change, manage disruption, and lead with purpose
