About the role

The Purchasing Officer is responsible for the provision of ongoing purchasing services including order placement, supplier management, internal stakeholder engagement and to ensure the best possible commercial outcomes are achieved in all dealings with Savanna’s approved supplier base.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Purchasing of supplies, issuing of PO’s, coding and pricing correctly (AFE #'s, FA ID's, Equipment ID's)
  • Maintain requirements for Well Servicing rigs
  • MRP Management (sweep) to be completed by 2pm each Monday and Thursday
  • Purchase orders to be emailed by the end of each day
  • Assisting in monitoring supply and sourcing alternatives on an ongoing basis
  • Acting as liaison between suppliers, operations and the field
  • Expediting of all purchase orders to ensure required due date is realised
  • Ongoing supplier relationship management
  • Negotiation of pricing for purchased items
  • Develop, maintain and monitor relationships with internal clients and external contractors to achieve and sustain customer satisfaction and value for money
  • Liaise with Vendors and respond to enquiries and provide timely and accurate advice

About you

  • Knowledge of, and experience in Purchasing policies and processes
  • Ability to develop productive relationships with internal clients and suppliers
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team to deliver high quality results in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to identify, collect, collate, analyse and present data in a manner that contributes to sound Purchasing and contract management decision making
  • Effective written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • The ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines
  • Previous experience using ERP system such as Dynamics AX or SAP
  • Minimum 3 year’s Purchasing experience
  • Evidence of ongoing training and education within field of Purchasing or greater supply chain
  • Basic to intermediate Excel skills
