The Role We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Rail Operations Support Officer to join our team at CBH Group
This role plays a key part in supporting the management of rail operations-related contracts, executing the Rail Safety Management Plan (RSMP), and assisting with Above Rail operational matters
You’ll also be involved in maintenance reporting and contractor management, contributing to the safe and efficient movement of grain across our network

The Role We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Rail Operations Support Officer to join our team at CBH Group
This role plays a key part in supporting the management of rail operations-related contracts, executing the Rail Safety Management Plan (RSMP), and assisting with Above Rail operational matters
You’ll also be involved in maintenance reporting and contractor management, contributing to the safe and efficient movement of grain across our network
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating service providers during operational disruptions and managing emergency fuel arrangements
- Assisting with contractor management, including communication, task coordination, and invoice verification
- Supporting rollingstock maintenance programs and defect liability processes
- Assisting with project administration, data collection, and performance reporting
- Maintaining accurate incident records in CBH’s SHARE safety management system
- Supporting the execution of CBH’s RSMP and ensuring compliance with safety protocols
- Collaborating with internal teams and external partners such as Aurizon to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Participating in audits and long-term strategy reviews
- Facilitating Arc Network Possessions approvals for track work
- Identifying opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost savings
About You:
- Experience in logistics or supply-chain operations
- Proven ability in contractor management and coordination
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities
Desirable
- Experience verifying contractor charges and invoices
- TAFE-level qualification or higher in Business, Commerce, or Agriculture
- Prior experience in rail operations
