YOUR ROLE
We are seeking a commercially driven Procurement Lead to join our Pacific operations.
Based in our Ground & Rail business, this role manages sourcing, vendor relationships, compliance, and contract performance across a large subcontractor base. Reporting to the GM Procurement – Ground & Rail, you will support strategic procurement activity and build strong partnerships to deliver high-quality transport solutions that align with business and customer goals.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Specifically, you will:
Manage commercial relationships with a broad subcontractor network across Australia and New Zealand
Oversee sourcing, rate negotiations, onboarding, compliance, and performance tracking
Lead tendering and procurement activity for ground and rail transport services
Act as a central point of contact for commercial negotiations and contract execution
Partner with Operations, Finance, Legal and Procurement colleagues across the region
Support the development and implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives
Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement strategies to optimise value and mitigate risk.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Our ideal candidate has a solid procurement background, preferably in ground or rail transport, and strong commercial and stakeholder management skills. You will also bring:
Experience in procurement, sourcing or supplier management
Knowledge of transport or logistics operations and industry dynamics
Strong numerical and analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Experience leading tenders and negotiations with subcontractors or carriers
Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
CIPS/MCIPS or tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Business or a related field (desirable)
A willingness to work flexibly, including outside of standard business hours, to meet business or customer requirements.
In addition to providing proof of work rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undergo a medical assessment and national police check.
