About the role

Mercy Community has an exciting opportunity for a Head of IT Services to join our Corporate Services Team on a permanent full-time basis. This role can be based at either our Head Office at Nudgee or at our regional site in Rockhampton.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer this position is responsible for leading the Information Technology department for end-to- end service delivery of technology solutions and infrastructure. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be dealing with a variety of stakeholders both internal to the organisation and external vendor relationships. You will be supported by an IT team across different sites. You will provide advice and shape the direction of IT solutions, supporting the delivery of strategic initiatives. This is an exciting time to join Mercy Community as we introduce a new strategic plan with our IT strategy forming an integral part of this. Salary commensurate with experience plus superannuation and generous salary packaging available.

This role involves but not limited to -

  • Overseeing ITIL based service management processes
  • Ensuring SLAs and KPIs are met across all IT systems and services
  • Implementing security measures to protect the organisation from cyber threats and vulnerabilities
  • Management of IT vendor agreements ensuring KPIs are met
  • Lead initiatives to integrate digital technologies into business processes, enhancing efficiency
  • Building and developing BI and analytic capabilities to support delivery of business initiatives
  • Lead a high performing customer centric IT team

About you

We are looking for an experienced Head of IT Services, with a collaborative mindset and a focus on partnering across the organisation to put in place end-to-end technology infrastructure and solutions to support our strategic goals. You should be focused on making an impact with the ability to role model our organisational mission and values. Specific requirements are:

  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or a related field
  • 7+ years’ experience working in a mid-to-senior level capacity in an IT department.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, networking, security, and cloud computing.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of IT professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex IT issues.
  • Experience in managing IT projects from initiation to completion.
  • Ability to manage IT budgets and financial resources effectively
