Position overview
The Mathematical Sciences Institute is seeking to appoint a postdoctoral researcher at Level A or B.
This position is funded by an Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery project awarded to Ben Andrews, Mat Langford and James McCoy. The primary aim of the position is to carry out the research programme proposed for the Discovery project. This will be done in collaboration with the three chief investigators (named above) and a range of Australian and international collaborators.
The research will involve the analysis of certain sub-elliptic diffusion processes which are induced by geometric flows, with the aim of producing new and robust methods of establishing convergence results for many flow processes.
The level of this appointment, Academic Level A or B, will be determined by the appointee’s level of experience and expertise.
Applicants are expected to have an outstanding record in research relative to opportunity, in a field directly relevant to the project mentioned above.
The ARC grant provides for some funding for international travel for successful applicants to attend conferences and workshops, and to conduct collaborative research with international colleagues.
