SNOW Medical Scientist - Research Support

The successful applicant will join a team of Research Support Scientists within the Pathology service at RMH. They will report to the Research Support Coordinator and SCIH Program leaders.The main duties of this role are to process and manage research specimens, record study participant information, train staff in the use of the SCIH laboratory information system and other duties as required.

- Opportunity for a Medical Scientist to join the SNOW team
- Full Time
- Based in the Pathology Department at RMH
The successful applicant will join a team of Research Support Scientists within the Pathology service at RMH. They will report to the Research Support Coordinator and SCIH Program leaders.The main duties of this role are to process and manage research specimens, record study participant information, train staff in the use of the SCIH laboratory information system and other duties as required.
You Will
- Strive for quality and continuous improvement in work practices to deliver reliable, consistent and high quality services
- Promote and sustain good interpersonal relationships, and effective and timely communication within the team and with internal and external stakeholders.
- Adhere to laboratory protocols at all times
- Plan and complete tasks based on workload and urgency
- Enthusiastic person with Bachelor degree in Science or in Applied Science (Medical Laboratory), or equivalent qualification
- Experienced in a pathology laboratory or research laboratory
- Able to prioritise workloads and to complete multiple and varied tasks on strict timelines
- Experienced in processing samples, including collection of pbmcs and cell counts
- Excellent attention to detail
- High level computer skills
- Demonstrated skills in communication and problem solving
- Ability to work independently
- Experienced using Pathology laboratory information systems
- Experienced using Quality management Systems
- Familiarity with redcap, Open Specimen, EPIC or other information systems
