About The Role

The purpose of this role is to oversee and enhance RACQ's project portfolio delivery practices. You'll ensure consistency in our approach, measurement, and reporting across the entire program and project lifecycle. A core responsibility is to coach and mentor our Portfolio Delivery resources (including Program/Project Managers, Solution Delivery Leads, Business Analysts, PMO Leads, and Project Coordinators). You'll empower them to effectively lead the design and implementation of successful project and program delivery activities, adhering to the Enterprise Delivery Framework. This role assures end-to-end delivery management (covering Waterfall, Agile, Wagile, business readiness, delivery assurance, and reporting) for our portfolio initiatives, all while minimising impact on our members, our people, and our business revenues.

  • Work with the Managers Portfolio Delivery to support delivery of projects across the Portfolio.
  • Partner with the Senior Portfolio Planning, Reporting & Finance Lead on forward-looking resource demand, and ongoing portfolio monitoring to ensure strategic alignment.
  • Provide crucial assurance over our project delivery activities, with a keen eye on quality, consistency, and overall effectiveness.
  • Be responsible for creating and enhancing the essential tools and templates that empower our delivery teams.
  • Manage and champion best practices across our Delivery community, including leading our internal Communities of Practice (Delivery, Business Analysis, Project Coordination).
  • As required, Uplift existing enterprise delivery framework delivery templates to support improved ways of working (in alignment with RACQ enterprise delivery framework) 
  • You'll provide hands-on support to projects when required.

About You

You're an experienced and passionate Portfolio or Senior Project Management professional ready to drive excellence. You'll bring

  • Formal qualifications such as PRINCE2, PMBOK, MSP, or equivalent, backing your deep understanding of contemporary project management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience in Portfolio or complex Project Management with demonstrated experience leading, mentoring and guiding a team to facilitate the delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects.
  • Exceptional portfolio and project skills, with a commitment to rigorous outcome evaluation and knowledge management that informs strategic decisions and organisational learning.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to consult, communicate, and influence effectively across all levels of an organization. You're a natural at facilitating change and enhancing performance in cross-functional environments.
  • A demonstrated history of driving business improvement and achieving cost-saving results through effective project and portfolio management.
