In this role you will be tasked in the planning, procurement, and delivery of road infrastructure projects — acting as the Superintendent’s Representative and providing expert technical and contract advice to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery & Site Supervision

  • Act as Superintendent’s Representative for small to medium construction projects.
  • Oversee day-to-day site operations, resolve technical issues, and ensure WHS compliance.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.

Procurement

  • Prepare procurement documentation and contract packages.
  • Analyze quotation submissions and award contracts in line with procurement strategies.

Contract Administration

  • Administer civil construction contracts in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Build strong working relationships with contractors and ensure fair resolution of issues.
  • Maintain detailed records, instructions, inspections, and audits.

Performance Reporting

  • Prepare regular progress reports on safety, budget, quality, environment, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Conduct project meetings and implement corrective actions as needed.

Supervision & Coordination

  • Provide technical support and mentoring to Undergraduate Engineers.
  • Review internal procedures and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Respond to community and stakeholder enquiries professionally and effectively.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or currently completing).
  • Demonstrated experience in road and drainage construction projects.
  • TMR/ local council project experience
  • Proven ability to manage the procurement and delivery of civil construction contracts.
  • Experience acting as a Superintendent’s Site Representative or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of Workplace Health & Safety requirements for construction.
  • Skilled in quality assurance, reporting, and contract documentation.
  • Ability to communicate confidently and make decisions under pressure.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with relevant project management tools.
  • Previous experience in road construction is essential.
