The Opportunity


We're seeking an experienced Broadcast Assistant to join our broadcast team and help oversee all aspects of live game broadcast operations for both NBL, WNBL and NBL1 leagues. This wide-ranging role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of sports broadcasting, managing live content distribution, media asset management, and building relationships with key broadcast and production partners.

You'll serve as a critical link between our internal teams and external third-party suppliers, ensuring flawless execution of broadcast quality while coordinating content delivery across multiple platforms and distributors.


Key Responsibilities


Broadcast Operations & Quality Management


  • Assist in management of all NBL, WNBL and NBL1 broadcast operations with third-party suppliers ensuring flawless execution and broadcast quality
  • Serve as primary escalation point for gameday broadcast and production partners, resolving issues efficiently
  • Communicate broadcast updates and resolutions to relevant staff across all departments


Stakeholder Coordination & Meetings


  • Participate in external stakeholder meetings ensuring coordination across broadcasting needs and expectations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with NBL, WNBL and NBL1 broadcast service providers
  • Manage key personnel relationships across partner organisations to ensure smooth operations


Media Asset & Content Management


  • Oversee NBL's Media Asset Management (MAM) and cloud storage systems
  • Manage relationships with service providers, user access accounts, and train newcomers to systems
  • Coordinate delivery of all shoulder programming to relevant third-party distributors and broadcasters


Studio Operations & Technical Management


  • Oversee and manage NBL studios for all shoulder content and digital programming requirements
  • Ensure broadcast facility is prepared and all equipment is working when required for service
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during live events in partnership with suppliers


About You


  • Proven experience in media content, broadcast and streaming workflows, and related industries
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to build key relationships
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with hands-on experience in live event broadcasting
  • Technical aptitude to troubleshoot and resolve issues during live broadcasts in collaboration with partners
  • Understanding of international and domestic media distribution systems, suppliers, and requirements
  • Ability to stay ahead of emerging technologies and industry trends in broadcasting
  • Experience with Media Asset Management systems and cloud storage platforms preferred
  • Passion for sports broadcasting and entertainment industry
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced live event environments
