Public Sector People is recruiting for an AO4 Procurement Officer on behalf of a State Government Department. This role is a temporary position with potential for extension. The procurement team within the department will engage with Educational providers to provide value for money in supplier negotiations.

As an AO4 Procurement Officer, you will support the delivery of less complex procurement projects, ensuring compliance with departmental and state policies. Your role will involve liaising with internal clients and external suppliers, preparing documentation and correspondence, maintaining accurate procurement records, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. You'll play a key role in ensuring value for money, effective stakeholder engagement, and consistent, audit-ready processes.

- $58.02 per hour + Super
- Full Time Position - 38 Hours per week
- Start Date Early July
- Deliver end-to-end support for less complex procurement projects, including planning, documentation, contract establishment, and compliance with state and departmental policies.
- Liaise with internal clients and external suppliers to determine requirements, manage procurement progress, and ensure value for money and client satisfaction.
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and submissions, and contribute to supplier negotiations and stakeholder engagement.
- Maintain accurate documentation of procurement processes and exercise delegated authority, ensuring audit-ready records and policy compliance.
- Support continuous improvement by developing local procurement guides and promoting an equitable, ethical, and growth-focused work environment.
- Previous Government experience in Local, State or Federal Government desirable
- Ability to quickly and accurately navigate multiple systems
- Well-developed interpersonal, written communication and financial literacy skills
- Relevant industry qualifications or equivalent experience
