The o pportunity
As a Customer Due Diligence Specialist at ANZ Worldline, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our company's integrity by overseeing advanced customer risk assessments and due diligence processes for both onboarding and ongoing cycles. Your expertise will redefine the experience for enterprise, Small-Medium Business (SMB), high-risk, and complex ownership structure customers, ensuring seamless customer interactions that elevate trust and compliance. At the core of ANZ Worldline’s first-line operations, you will manage comprehensive due diligence activities that significantly impact the company’s safe growth and customer satisfaction.
Reporting to the Head of Customer Due Diligence, your responsibilities will include handling Customer Risk Assessment, Standard, and Enhanced Customer Due Diligence, as well as Ongoing Customer Due Diligence, Application Fraud Analysis, and Credit Assessment. You will perform these with delegated credit approval authority for enterprise, SMB and high-risk customers. You will navigate AML/CTF Rules, Scheme Rules, and Worldline Group Merchant Acceptance Rules & Requirements (MARR), maintaining compliance within the Australian market to protect against money laundering/terrorism financing (ML/TF) risks, fraud risks, and credit risks.

Day-to-day Responsibilities
- Execute Comprehensive Due Diligence : Conduct all facets of Standard, Enhanced, and Ongoing Customer Due Diligence for enterprise, SMB and high risk customers, adhering to rigorous compliance standards.
- Facilitate Customer Engagement: Proactively communicate with customers to request and collect the required KYC/ MARR/ Credit information, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements. Strive to ensure a positive customer experience throughout the process by maintaining clear, courteous, and responsive communication.
- Perform Detailed Credit and Fraud Checks : Proactively assess enterprise, SMB and high-risk customers to mitigate financial losses associated with credit and fraud risks.
- Ensure Data and Documentation Integrity : Maintain accuracy and completeness of customer data and documentation, ensuring alignment with AML/CTF regulations and credit risk policies.
- Customer Risk Assessment : Assign appropriate AML/CTF and credit risk levels to enterprise and SMB merchants, ensuring compliance with ANZ Worldline’s policies and standards.
- Operational Excellence : Manage day-to-day operations within established organizational policies and procedures, maintaining adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for enterprise, SMB and high-risk customers.
- Optimize Due Diligence Processes : Collaborate across ANZ Worldline to enhance due diligence processes, balancing efficiency with comprehensive risk management for enterprise, SMB and high-risk customers.
- Manage Customer Triggers and Risk Alerts : Address and fulfill event-driven triggers and risk alerts to maintain vigilance across various risk vectors.
- Identify and Report Compliance Issues : Identify and report compliance matters to ensure alignment with AML/CTF programs and ANZ Worldline’s policies.
- Continuous Improvement : Partner with the Team Lead to regularly review and optimize risk systems, processes, and procedures for enhanced efficacy in customer account management.
- 5+ years of experience within a customer due diligence environment, with expertise in KYC, AML, Fraud, and Credit processes for enterprise and SMB customers.
- Previous experience working with enterprise and SMB customers in a payments or technology-driven organization.
- Proven track record in managing complex merchant acquiring environments.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- Industry Certification, such as ACAMS, is preferred.
