The opportunity

As the RED OHMS Group continues to grow, our small but busy Hazmat and Occupational Hygiene team is looking for a driven and motivated team member to assist the Project Coordinator to deliver client services and project coordination with scheduling, invoicing, quoting, training administration and office management. The role will include management of lab operations to ensure this area of the business continues to operate smoothly and effectively.

Project Administration

Key responsibilities of the position

  • Assist with scheduling and management of rosters and schedules for the team
  • Assist the Project Coordinator in communication and liaison activities with clients and team members in the field
  • Monitor email inboxes and allocate requests from current and prospective clients for action to relevant team members
  • Assist the Project Coordinator with other project and training administration activities as required

Lab Management

  • Manage and maintain all calibration and equipment records in our Plant & Equipment software solution
  • Ensure well maintained and calibrated equipment and consumable are available for each project, including coordinating the hire of equipment as needed
  • Pack and organise kits and equipment for field consultants with high workloads
  • Track usage and analyse cost benefits of hired equipment against purchased equipment
  • Organize maintenance and repair of equipment
  • Participate in sample analysis training to further support team workload and the timely delivery of projects (optional)

To be successful in this position

  • Cert IV in Business Administration (desirable)
  • Diploma of Laboratory Technology or Cert II/IV in Laboratory Techniques (desirable)
  • Tertiary qualification in business management, laboratory technology, science, or related field (desirable)
  • Experience/exposure to project administration or similar role, (desirable)
  • Industry experience/exposure or similar (desirable)
  • Interest in working within a project/laboratory environment
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks and conflicting priorities
