About The OPPORTUNITY
The Navigation Design Lead will lead the DDG Navigation Design body of work which forms a part of the Combat System Engineering Team within the broader DDG CSI organization.
The Navigation Design Lead is primarily responsible for assisting with the execution of prescribed engineering changes related Navigation that will be installed on the in-service Hobart Class DDG within the RAN fleet. Majority of these changes fall within the broader Destroyer Capability Enhancement (DCE) Project.

About The OPPORTUNITY

More specifically, you will be
- Primarily responsible for the DDG Navigation Capability and will lead the execution of development of Engineering Change Packs
- Manage change efforts across the Systems Engineering, Ship Integration and Test, and Transversal Engineering Teams
- Execute Systems Engineering activities supporting requirements analysis, architecture definition and development of system and subsystem design and integration.
- Support the execution of major program milestones such as design, test readiness and system readiness reviews
- Co-ordinate the execution of Systems Engineering activities within your assigned subsystem domain
- Establish technical support to the Test and Commissioning team
- Establish and maintain the Systems Engineering Framework to support CS design activities within your subsystem domain
- Extensive experience with Maritime Navigation Systems
- Past exposure in the Integration, Test and Evaluation of CS Products into Naval Platforms or equivalent complex Military Systems having challenging constraints
- Experience working in an engineering project multi-disciplinary environment (preferably within the defence industry)
- Extensive experience in engineering management, risk mitigation and business improvement methodologies
- Extensive experience and expertise in relevant technologies and domains with substantial professional experience as a Systems Engineer
- Strong problem-solving skills, including ability to provide solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
