What you'll do:

As Financial Controller, you will take ownership of both strategic leadership and hands-on delivery within the finance function. Your day-to-day activities will involve partnering with senior leaders to shape financial direction while ensuring rigorous compliance with international standards. You will oversee all aspects of budgeting, forecasting, reporting cycles, audit processes, tax compliance, system enhancements, stakeholder engagement, treasury support functions as well as team leadership. Success in this role requires you to balance analytical rigour with collaborative problem-solving-driving process improvements while nurturing talent within your team. Your ability to communicate complex information clearly will be essential as you provide guidance across departments.   • Lead the preparation and continuous improvement of budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans to ensure alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Provide strategic insights that support business planning, investment decisions, and risk management across multiple business units.
  • Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with IFRS, group policies, and statutory requirements while managing month-end close processes.
  • Ensure robust internal controls are maintained alongside full compliance with tax obligations including GST, FBT, payroll tax, income tax, and regulatory standards.
  • Champion the modernisation of finance systems by implementing ERP upgrades and business intelligence platforms to drive automation and data analytics adoption.
  • Continuously enhance financial processes to increase efficiency and agility within the finance function.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to deliver actionable financial insights that underpin strategic initiatives throughout the business.
  • Liaise effectively with group accounting teams, audit committees, external auditors, and regulators to ensure transparent communication and compliance.
  • Support treasury operations including insurance management and cash flow optimisation to strengthen overall financial resilience.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team by fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, continuous learning, and service excellence.

What you bring:

To excel as Financial Controller you will bring proven experience from complex corporate settings where multi-currency transactions are routine. Your background includes deep familiarity with international accounting standards as well as practical expertise managing audits and statutory returns. You are adept at leveraging enterprise resource planning systems like SAP-and ideally have some exposure to Hyperion-to streamline workflows. Your interpersonal strengths allow you to build trust across diverse teams while guiding junior colleagues towards shared goals. A keen eye for detail ensures nothing is overlooked during busy reporting periods; meanwhile your analytical mindset helps uncover valuable insights from large datasets.   • Degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance providing a solid foundation for technical expertise required in this role.
  • Full professional qualification such as CPNCA or ACCA demonstrating advanced knowledge of accounting principles.
  • At least five years' experience in a similar capacity within high-volume multi-currency environments ensuring readiness for complex challenges.
  • Comprehensive understanding of IFRS and AASB standards enabling effective oversight of statutory reporting obligations.
  • Proven track record using SAP for core finance operations; familiarity with Hyperion considered advantageous for broader system integration.
  • Extensive exposure to tax compliance matters including GST, FBT, payroll tax and income tax responsibilities within large organisations.
  • Self-starter attitude combined with proactive approach ensures tasks are managed efficiently without constant supervision.
  • Exceptional organisational skills paired with clear communication abilities facilitate smooth collaboration across teams.
