An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to undertake the role of Senior Charge Nurse for the Primary Care Team, Justice Healthcare. The post holder will work as part of the leadership team across Prison Healthcare, focussing on leadership and clinical care delivery of HMP Castle Huntly and HMP & YOI Bella. The Post holder will work clinically 60% with 40% protected leadership time.

As Senior Charge Nurse you will nurture and develop the nursing team to ensure an excellent skill set provide high-quality person-centred care that meets the needs of our patients and provides support to their families and carers .

As an individual you will have excellent communication and social skills who works well with and through a range of multi-disciplinary team members to achieve high quality of care throughout the patient’s journey. Your natural style as an integrated leader of people with strengths of empathy diplomacy and a passion to maintain high standards will equip you for this role. You will have a sound knowledge and understanding of Prison Healthcare and general medical conditions.

We are looking for an individual to join our dedicated team and provide high quality evidenced-based clinical care and operational leadership to the primary care team, which involves the delivery of services to vulnerable patient groups across Prison Healthcare. Alongside the operational management responsibilities, the post holder will demonstrate excellent leadership skills to drive forward transformational change. Additionally, the post holder will demonstrate excellent clinical knowledge and care delivery.

You should have a robust understanding of quality improvement and service development and a proven track record of managing people and evidence of improving care for patients. You will be an experienced leader with a wide range of managerial skills evidenced by an extensive background of managing services within an NHS setting.
