NFL Events is seeking a full-time employee for a two-year contract within the NFL Live Event Operations department. The primary responsibility of this role is the planning and tactical execution of the NFL’s portfolio of live events, with a focus on delivering the league’s international games in the Asia Pacific market. This role will also support other international NFL Live Events as needed.

The ideal candidate will have experience in large-scale event management, stadium/venue operations, international event logistics, and team/athlete management. Additionally, the candidate should have experience working in a matrixed organization, with a proven track record of cross-functional collaboration, as well as strong presentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the local event liaison for the NFL Melbourne Game throughout the planning process
  • Support the event lead on game operations overall including but not limited to; master site planning, venue and facility management, vendor management, production, budgeting, site operations, transportation, wayfinding, logistical planning and execution including oversight of agencies in these roles 
  • Oversee site visits and coordinate event planning meetings, develop agendas and create follow up task lists  
  • Ensure smooth operations for the NFL’s key constituent groups including but not limited to participating teams, team ownership, partners, media, broadcast, fans and staff   
  • Assist other departments locally to scout other potential sites and fulfill local needs
  • Lead scouting and support delivery of future games within the Asia Pacific market
  • Ability to work independently and sometimes on unconventional hours to liaise with the NY office.
  • Take leadership role in core elements of event as assigned  
  • Develop and deliver visually appealing, persuasive and effective presentation materials  
  • Ability to present clearly to cross organizational group on a regular basis  
  • Provide operational support across ancillary events as needed  
  • Provide administrative support including but not limited to contract management, invoicing, and scheduling   
  •  Supervise a local staff of up to 2 seasonal employees

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of major event production or operations experience  
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • Knowledge of venue/stadium, media and broadcast operations  
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment  
  • Ability to lead others and collaborate with a variety of groups at different levels  
  • Experience managing production and event budgets  
  • Demonstrated experience working with outside agencies   
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills  
  • Strong writing and communications skills  
  • Strong negotiation skills  
  • Proactive self-starter who works well within a team, strong interpersonal skills  
  • Ability to think outside of the box/ Creative Problem Solving  
  • Able to pivot quickly and problem solve in real time  
  • Ability to work long and unconventional hours, weekends and holidays

Other Key Attributes / Characteristics

  • Past venue management and logistics planning experience  
  • Previous experience producing international large scale events  
  • Proven track record of managing vendors/labor/workforce  
  • High-end client servicing experience  
  • Demonstrated team player   
  • Proficiency in foreign language/s a plus  

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • Physical Demands: This is a live event production role and, at times, will require physicality.  This could involve lifting, moving heavy objects, extended periods outdoors in inclement weather, long hours of physical movement during show production, extensive travel requirements, site builds and adjustment of physical assets.  
  • Travel: Significant international travel required, up to 50%.
  • This role is based in Melbourne, Australia, but ideal candidate would be open to relocation in the future based on future international markets.
  • NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week.
  • Some weekend and holiday around planning and execution of events
  • Expected to work some unconventional hours as continued planning with the NY office
