We are currently seeking motivated and enthusiastic applicants for the Health Information Service Officer role at SJG Mt Lawley.

The Health Information Service Officer is responsible for the provision of a quality Health Information Service, including the retrieval, preparation and maintenance of medical records.

The role is offered on a permanent part-time basis, working 22.5 hours per week

The Position - Health Information Service Officer

  • Ensures the confidentiality and security of patient information and records from unauthorised access.
  • Creates and maintains accurate and complete patient records as per Health Information Services department procedures.
  • Maintains record tracking, filing and archive systems in primary and secondary storage locations. Delivers medical records for booked and emergency patients to locations throughout the Hospital site as necessary.
  • Receives and processes requests for patient information from internal and external requests as per the Hospital policy.
  • Accurate and timely scanning of health record documents in the Scanned Health Record System (SHRS).
  • Provides a total clerical service to the department including the maintenance of department statistics, patient master index, or other duties as requested by the Manager

To succeed you will have accurate and efficient keyboard, computer and data entry skills with well-developed interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills to liaise effectively with the public, patients and all levels of staff

You will be able to organise and prioritise workloads to meet timeframes and have the ability to work effectively and harmoniously within the multi-disciplinary health care team with a commitment to ongoing education and professional development.

  • Salary: $68,939 to $74,417, (pro rata) plus 12% superannuation
  • Permanent Part-Time position
