Your Opportunity

We’re currently seeking an experienced Manager Safety to lead the implementation of our safety strategy and champion a proactive safety culture across our operations. This is a pivotal leadership role where you’ll influence safety excellence, drive innovation, and embed sustainable safety practices into every aspect of our business.

Key Accountabilities Include

  • Lead the development and execution of IGO’s safety strategy, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives;
  • Provide expert guidance to operational teams, ensuring compliance with legislation, company standards and industry best practices;
  • Foster a proactive safety culture through visible leadership, accountability, and employee engagement;
  • Oversee risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions to drive continuous improvement;
  • Monitor and analyse safety performance metrics, delivering actionable insights to senior leadership;
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment in safety practices;
  • Drive innovation by identifying and implementing innovative safety technologies and systems; and
  • Build and lead a high-performing safety team focused on excellence, collaboration, and customer focused delivery.

Your Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field;
  • Significant experience in a senior safety leadership role, ideally within the mining industry;
  • High level influencing skills and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders;
  • Exceptional communication, literacy, numeracy, and presentation skills;
  • Demonstrated success in managing diverse teams;
  • Experience with Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) or “Safety 2” programs; and
  • National Police Clearance obtained within the last two months.
