HOBAN Recruitment is seeking an experienced EL1 Service Designer based in SURRY HILLS NSW to support a major Federal Government program focused on improving outcomes for Australians. About the role:
As an EL1 Service Designer, you will lead service design initiatives to improve how people experience services. You will conduct research, map current and future states, and design end-to-end service experiences that align with participant and stakeholder needs. This role involves leading design thinking sessions, advocating for users, and working within a multidisciplinary environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead qualitative and quantitative research to gather insights
- Create and document current and future state service designs
- Manage process design improvements and evaluate proposed solutions
- Facilitate design-thinking workshops with service users
- Advocate for the participant and stakeholder voice in all designs
- Oversee end-to-end service experiences across all touchpoints
- Support design artefact creation including journey maps and service blueprints
- Collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
About you:
To excel in this role, you will bring:
- Experience in service design within agile, multidisciplinary teams
- Strong research and analytical skills with a user-centred mindset
- Ability to facilitate workshops and engage stakeholders
- Excellent communication and synthesis skills
- Proficiency in digital design and collaboration tools (e.g., Figma, Miro)
- Capability to work in complex, fast-paced environments with competing priorities
Desirable:
- Experience in the disability, social services, or public sector
- Familiarity with Jira, SharePoint, and government environments
Eligibility requirements:
- You must be an Australian Citizen
- Able to pass a National Criminal History Check and other background checks as required
