About the Role

We are excited to introduce the position of Senior Accountant into our team. This pivotal role is designed to enhance our dynamic finance team by ensuring smooth financial processes and meticulous attention to detail in all financial transactions across Australia and New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations

  • Day-to-Day Transactional Accounting: Perform daily financial transactional tasks to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Accounts Receivable: Manage the client invoicing process and ensure timely debt collection to maintain a healthy cash flow.
  • Accounts Payable: Handle the entire accounts payable process, including vendor invoice data entry, management of purchase orders and weekly vendor payments.
  • Credit card reconciliation: Weekly reconciliation of all company credit cards and entry into the system.
  • Casual Payroll Review: Assisting with the approval and reconciliation of a fortnightly payroll for casual staff, ensuring relevant payroll and new hire data is submitted to the payroll processing team.
  • Staff Expenses: Review and approval of staff expenses in line with company expense policy.

Management Accounting

  • Job Reconciliations: Assist Client Services teams to complete job reconciliations to ensure jobs are running within budget and billings are accurate.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Prepare and review bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Fixed Assets Management: Oversee the management of fixed assets, including tracking depreciation and ensuring accurate records.
  • Compliance: Ensure all financial activities comply with relevant regulations and standards.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Team Support: Act as the first point of contact for financial queries from the team, providing guidance and escalating issues as necessary.
  • Financial System Maintenance: Creation of new client and vendor records, reallocations of job costs and general data updates as required.
  • Email Management: Monitoring general accounts email address for AUS and NZ, responding to queries from suppliers and clients as required or escalating queries as required.
  • Special Projects: Support special finance-related projects as required, contributing your expertise to achieve project goals.

Skills Required

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA qualification or equivalent.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a finance role, preferably within the advertising and media industry.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial regulations, accounting principles, and financial reporting, including international tax requirements.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in financial software and tools, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies. Prior NetSuite experience highly regarded.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally.
  • Integrity and Dependability: High level of integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Organisational Skills: Exceptional organisational skills and a strong work ethic, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
