We are seeking a customer-focused and tech-savvy Senior Desktop Support Officer/ End-User Compute Specialist for a 6-month contract. This role is responsible for providing first- and second-level support to end users across the business, assisting with day-to-day IT issues, hardware and software troubleshooting, and basic administration of Microsoft 365 services
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide timely support for end-user devices, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows OS, Microsoft 365 applications, and standard enterprise software
- Handle user account administration, including password resets and group memberships via Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Respond to and manage support tickets using the ServiceNow platform
- Provide support for Exchange Online email issues (e.g. mail flow, mailbox access, calendar sync)
- Assist in onboarding and offboarding staff, including workstation setup and access provisioning
- Support device deployment, imaging, and patching processes
- Perform basic scripting tasks (e.g. running PowerShell scripts provided by senior staff)
- Log and document work performed, resolutions, and known issues in the ITSM platform
- Escalate unresolved technical issues to Tier 2/3 or vendor support where appropriate
- Maintain a strong focus on customer service and ensure end-user satisfaction
Skills:
- More than 3 years of experience in a Level 2 Desktop Support
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Office apps)
- Basic understanding of Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) for user support
- Familiarity with IT ticketing systems such as ServiceNow
- Understanding of Exchange Online functionality and end-user troubleshooting
- Ability to follow and run PowerShell scripts (writing not essential)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks
