Description
The Amazon Australia Retail team is looking for a strategic leader with experience in driving operational efficiency and business improvements through the use of data, stakeholder management and negotiation. This is a pivotal role, partnering with senior leadership and contributing to the evolution and success of the rapid marketplace growth.
A Senior Strategic Program Manager will build an in depth understanding of Amazon's commercial frameworks, operational processes, and programs. They will strategically define the evolution of inventory management with improvement defined as defect reduction, cost-savings, time-savings, increased quality and higher customer satisfaction. Our customers are our suppliers, internal partner teams and our team members.
To be successful in this role, the candidate will be able to work through a problem statement and deep-dive processes with data. Once an opportunity has been identified, they own the end-to-end delivery from project definition, scope, initiation, execution and closure. This includes building a business case, stakeholder mapping, creating a project plan, project managing the execution with updates to the business, delivery with intensive-care and hand-off of the project. They also proactively connect to other Amazon locales to gain insight into their approaches or combine to deliver solutions at scale.

- Building and owning supply chain relationships with some of Australia's largest retail vendors.
- Understanding the operational performance and strategy of vendors, and how this impacts the Amazon P&L.
- Managing projects and programs that deliver cost efficiencies, directly impacting our customers by allowing them to access more selection at faster speeds.
- Owning key operational KPIs, finding ways to work at scale across the wider vendor base, whilst educating internal colleagues regarding the need to drive automation and operational excellence.
- Influencing a wide variety of internal stakeholders, using effective communication and interpersonal skills to encourage other teams to support priorities and deliver results.
- Visiting vendors and other Amazon sites across AU as required.

- Experience communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience delivering results by partnering with and influencing others
- Experience leading process improvement, systems development, and project management
- 5+ years of with Excel experience
- Bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of professional or military experience
- 5+ years of project/program management or supply chain experience
- Experience with SQL
- Knowledge of P&L
