Python Software Engineer

What we need from you / What our client requires

  • Python Developer exp
  • Exp in PySpark (preferred) or Scalar Spark libraries
  • Experience with Big Data - Hortonworks HDP and HDF services such as HDFS, Hive, HBase, Phoenix, Spark, NiFi, Atlas, Ranger etc

Key duties and responsibilities

Must have

  • The ideal candidate must have at least 10-20 years of day-to-day software development/engineering experience
  • Strong python skills to support very complex Python applications
  • Ready to write Pythonic code (in Python of course) from scratch leveraging well known software design patterns
  • Data skill is a secondary priority to software engineering but still mandatory

Good to have

  • Experience with leading Software Engineering Chapters
  • Experience in design and development of metadata driven data pipeline frameworks
  • Experience in data engineering tasks in data projects such as creating pipelines
  • Big Data - Hortonworks HDP and HDF services such as HDFS, Hive, HBase, Phoenix, Spark, NiFi, Atlas, Ranger etc
  • Expertise in PySpark (preferred) or Scalar Spark libraries
  • Knowledge of Azure services and their APIs - ADLSgen2, Event Hubs, Cosmos DB, Synapse Pipelines and Synapse Spark/SQL Pools
  • Experience with real-time/streaming data pipelines - Kafka, Spark Streaming, NiFi
  • Experience working with DevOps/DevSecOps methodologies - CI/CD tooling (e.g. Jenkins, Bitbucket, Artifactory), Azure DevOps suite and have knowledge of best practices for code deployment
  • Working knowledge in Orchestration Tools - Control-M, ESP, Airflow etc
