About This Role
Due to recent team growth, a role has become available for a Manager/Senior Manager to join our Financial Reporting Advisory team, based from any of our national offices across Australia (Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Melbourne, Perth or Sydney).
This team is primarily internal-facing, empowering stakeholders to navigate accounting standards and guiding them through the process of applying these standards. You will bring curiosity and lateral thinking when understanding accounting issues, assisting others in finding practical and technically sound solutions to problems.
This role would be ideal for someone who thrives on the intellectual challenges of professional services but is looking for a shift from the external client-facing/business development career path or seeking the opportunities of a growing team. Due to the inquisitive mindset required for this type of work you’ll find an “open forum” culture of knowledge-sharing within this team where questions are encouraged, and fresh ideas and perspectives are welcomed. You will also share your insights with a wider audience across the firm, through webinars and thought leadership activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical technical accounting advice and interpretation of Australian Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Support and guide stakeholders through the practical application of Australian Accounting Standards and IFRS
- Assist with technical reviews of financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards and IFRS
- Assist in the creation of topical technical thought leadership publications
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of internal technical training

- Tertiary and / or professional qualification(s) in a relevant discipline such as Business / Commerce, Accounting or Finance, or other relevant professional or overseas qualification(s)
- Accounting and audit experience in a professional services environment
- Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards and, ideally, Australian Accounting Standards
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to build trust resulting in strong working relationships with your stakeholders
- An investigative mindset, coupled with close attention to detail and commitment to ensuring quality
- Professional accreditation such as CA / CPA or equivalent overseas certification would be desirable
