In the role of Associate Director, Communications you will join the NAB’s Corporate Affairs team that’s doubling down making a tangible difference to customers while keeping it simple.
Each day, you’ll go above and beyond to:
- Support the planning, advice and execution of activities aligned to the Communications plan – particularly around NAB’s scams and fraud education and awareness activities.
- This includes managing media enquiries, developing and executing communications and engagement plans and messaging tailored to relevant audiences, which can include both internal and external.
- Support issues management, including regularly looking for ways to build trust in NAB, aligned with NAB’s strategic ambition and why we are here.
- Work in collaboration with Corporate Affairs colleagues as well as other key stakeholders including Group Investigations, Fraud Operations, Enterprise Security and Marketing to ensure consistent alignment of NAB’s messaging and communications activity.
- Bring the outside in, by helping to drive business decisions that will build trust and drive change for the benefit of customers, communities and NAB, and by pursuing new, innovative, creative and effective communications approaches.
- Ensure all communications content and materials are delivered in line with these requirements.
- Provide support as part of NAB’s incident and crisis management activities and readiness.
- Extensive proficiency in Communications/Public Relations/Employee Engagement. with significant media relations skills and experience vital.
- Demonstrate experience as a trusted advisor who influences outcomes with senior executives/stakeholders and/or mitigates issues to achieve communications objectives.
- Ability to manage and prioritise multiple issues and stakeholders, while working in a dynamic, cross functional and collaborative team environment to achieve Communications outcomes.
- Communications planning and execution skills in one or more of the following categories:
- External communications activities: Delivering external communications across traditional media and social media platforms which help to enhance NAB’s reputation.
- Employee communications and engagement: including supporting the development and execution of employee communications campaigns and activities that achieve employee engagement objectives.
- Digital and social media content skills: including writing, photography, and simple visual communications editing (video and design).
- Measurement skills (across media, digital or employee), including how measurement can inform strategy, planning and execution.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills required, including demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence with internal (i.e. senior executives) stakeholders.
- Sound understanding of the political and external environment, and how that impacts communications strategy.
