About The Role

Macro Mining Services (Macro, MMS), a division of Macro Metals Limited (ASX:M4M), is looking for your expertise to lead the end-to-end coordination, development & design for our Expressions of Interest, Invitations to Tender and Requests for Quotation across our core mining services offerings which include contract mining, load and haul, civil works, crushing and screening, bulk haulage, port services, shipping and rehabilitation.

In this role, you’ll collaborate directly with our General Manager of Mining Services, as well as other operations, safety, procurement, and finance team members, to prepare professional, technically, and commercially compliant tender responses that reflect our operational excellence, execution capability, and value-adding mining services.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the Bid Process: Manage and coordinate all aspects of bid preparation and cost estimation from initial receipt of tender packs through to final proposal submission.
  • Compile and Create Submissions: Interpret tender documentation, technical scopes and specifications to coordinate the development of accurate, innovative and competitive bids. This includes project methodologies and technical solutions, delivery strategies, execution plans, commercial acumen, compliance responsibilities, safety management systems, and local community initiatives.
  • Maintain and update a library of starting point responses, capability statements, CVs and project experience summaries for efficient reuse.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with operations, projects, safety, commercial and finance teams to gather inputs and feedback, ensuring submissions accurately align with both client requirements and company capabilities and value pillars.
  • Opportunity Schedule Management: Track upcoming tender opportunities, manage timelines and ensure all submissions (including any post-submission clarifications or presentations) are completed on time and meet both internal Macro and client expectations.
  • Support Negotiations: After our initial bid responses are submitted, support the team during clarifications, presentations and negotiations prior to contract award.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to ongoing improvement of our bid processes, templates, workflows and knowledge management systems to increase tender response efficiency and contract-win rates.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience: 10+ years’ experience in a bid specialist, estimating, tendering and proposal writing role within mining services and/or the broader resources sector. Ability to demonstrate proven success in preparing bid submissions for major Tier 1 and 2 mining companies and large contractors.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of pit-to-port mining operations and project delivery. Ability to interpret mining scopes of work across the entire supply chain, including technical drawings, specifications and contract documentation.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail. Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical information into clear, compelling content, with a proven aptitude for tailoring messaging to suit diverse stakeholder audiences
  • Project Management: Excellent organisational and project management abilities capable of coordinating multiple bids simultaneously, managing inputs from various stakeholders and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and document management systems, with experience maintaining content libraries and templates to improve the efficiency of developing proposals.
  • Client Systems Familiarity: Familiarity with client e-procurement and tender platforms such as Rio Tinto’s Buy Local, BHP’s C-Res/GCMS and ICN Gateway.
  • Education: Tertiary qualifications in Business, Engineering, Project Management or a related field are preferred (or equivalent industry experience).
  • Personal Attributes: Self-motivated and able to work independently when needed, but also a collaborative team player. A strategic thinker with commercial acumen and a client-focused mindset, who embodies integrity, initiative and a continuous improvement attitude.
