Payroll Officer
Are you passionate about numbers, processes, and people? The Shoe Group is looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join our team at the National Support Office. This role is essential in ensuring our team members are paid accurately, on time, and in line with all legislative and internal requirements.
As a Payroll Officer, you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional service and support to our team members across the country, while managing the day-to-day administration of our payroll system with precision and care.

This role is essential in ensuring our team members are paid accurately, on time, and in line with all legislative and internal requirements.
As a Payroll Officer, you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional service and support to our team members across the country, while managing the day-to-day administration of our payroll system with precision and care.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Deliver high quality, professional customer service to all team members
- Respond to payroll queries via phone and email in a timely and empathetic manner
- Support Store Managers and Store Support Managers in resolving timekeeping or system related issues
- Maintain a calm, solutions focused approach during all interactions
- Process end-to-end payroll transactions using our payroll system (Dayforce preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills
- Create and maintain electronic payroll files and team member records
- Action time and attendance system errors and roster changes
- Manage deductions, allowances, and pay adjustments as required
- Stay up to date with industry awards and ensure compliance
- Administer system changes for team member status updates and file related documentation
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy at all times
- A strong customer service mindset with excellent communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience managing high volume payroll administration
- Ability to problem solve and make decisions independently
- Strong time management and task prioritisation
- Self motivated with a results driven approach
- Confident relationship builder across departments
- Experience with using the Dayforce payroll platform is desirable
