Salary: $71,433 - $76,185 plus industry allowances and 12% superannuation

Help shape the future of sport in Latrobe City!

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Curator – Premier Venues to lead the maintenance and presentation of our region’s premier sporting facilities.

This is a unique opportunity to work on Council’s premier venues including:

  • Regional Cricket Centre of Excellence – Ted Summerton Reserve
  • Regional Football Centre of Excellence – Morwell Recreation Reserve; and
  • Regional Soccer Centre of Excellence – Gippsland Sports and Entertainment Park, Morwell

About This Role

You’ll be part of the City Presentation team, delivering high-quality turf management and supporting the development of apprentices in Sports Turf Management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead specialised turf maintenance including turf cricket pitch preparation, chemical and fertiliser application, and oval renovations.
  • Mentor apprentices working toward a Certificate III in Sports Turf Management.
  • Support a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Assist with maintenance operations across the municipality as required.

About You

The role requires understanding of OH&S standards related to turf and machinery, along with a commitment to customer service, continuous improvement, and upholding Council’s values.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Certificate III in Sports Turf Management (post-trade certificate desirable)
  • Previous experience maintaining high-end grass and hybrid playing surfaces, including turf cricket pitches to professional standards
  • Current Victorian Driver’s License
  • Medium Rigid Vehicle License (minimum)
  • Chemical Users License
  • Traffic Control and Worksite Management Certificate
  • Construction Induction (White Card)
  • Current First Aid Certificate (preferred)
