About the Role:
Reporting to: Technical Services & Assistant Logistics Manager Oceania

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Work Location: Melbourne

As a Technical Services - Reefer Specialist, you will collaborate with shippers, stevedores, vessel operators, and internal teams to address reefer operational issues effectively to improve the operational efficiency and cost of operating the group's reefer fleet.

The role and responsibilities will include:
Managing the In-Transit Cold Treatment (ITCT) program, ensuring compliance with DAFF protocols and monitoring reefer cargo performance.
Collaborating with shippers, stevedores, vessel operators, and internal teams to address and resolve reefer operational issues.
Providing technical support to vessels, agents, and customers regarding reefer logistics and equipment.
Analyzing reefer container data, preparing reports, and assisting with cargo claims to determine the root cause of failures.
Maintaining and supplying data download devices, spare parts, and ensuring the functionality of related software and hardware.
Liaising with internal departments and external service providers to minimize operational risks and enhance efficiency.
Adhering to occupational health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with policies to mitigate risks.

To be successful in this role, you will need:
Tertiary qualifications in business, international business, supply chain/logistics, or a related discipline.
A background in mechanical, electrical, or refrigeration fields, or experience in container operations within the shipping industry.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact with a wide range of stakeholders.
Experience in logistics container management, stock management, or handling high-volume container flows.
A proactive approach to adhering to occupational health and safety procedures and mitigating risks.
