About the opportunity

The Residential Designer reports to the Product Development Manager and is part of the NEX group head office Product Development team. The focus of this highly rewarding role is to create functional residential design concepts that align with building codes and reflect current design trends for our building brands. More specifically, you will:

  • Develop buildable designs that meet market expectations in consultation with key business stakeholders
  • Design and develop functional concepts and residential designs using CAD/BIM software that adhere to building codes, and sustainability standards.
  • Create concept floor plans, facades, and option plans using CAD software
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of design templates, drafting standards and internal systems.
  • Participate in design and/or display meetings, design reviews, and display home walk-throughs

About you

You will share a passion for our purpose and be aligned to our core values. In addition, you will demonstrate:
  • Degree or diploma in Architecture, Building Design, Drafting or related field
  • Proficiency in design software such as Archicad, Revit
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, standards and residential construction processes
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, creativity and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to work under pressure
