Our opportunity
As an Interior Designer,you will assist be responsible for the interior design and documentation on projects in conjunction with the Project Architect/Coordinator and the project team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensure the effective cooperation between the Interior Design department and all other members of the Project Delivery team
- Compile the interior design brief in conjunction with the Project Delivery team and oversee its integration into the overall project brief
- Prepare and monitor Interior design team programs and drawing and finishes schedules to meet building construction programs and tender package requirements
- Assist the Project Architect/Coordinator and the Mirvac Design Planning manager in the design of internal layouts.
- Consult with the Estimator assigned to the project to assure that all items specified are within budget
- Ensure all finishes schemes and detailing are checked by the Interior Design Manager and the Project Architect/Coordinator and presented for internal Mirvac Design reviews prior to presenting to the Development Manager
- Direct and oversee work undertaken by junior interior designers and team documenters.
- Implement and monitor project specific Mirvac design standards and fitness-for-purpose standards
- Ensure sales and marketing material is consistent with documented design, finishes and fittings
- Carry out site inspections to monitor design intent and quality control
Your point of difference
The ideal candidate will have between 5-10 years of industry experience across multiple design disciplines, with a clear focus on residential interior architecture and design.
You'll hold a relevant qualification in Interior Architecture or Interior Design, and possess a well-rounded skill set that blends creativity with technical expertise. From developing original design concepts to interior detailing, material and finish selection, and FFE specifications - you know how to bring ideas to life with clarity and flair.
Proficiency in key design software is essential, including Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), and Microsoft PowerPoint.
