About The Role
As Business Development Manager, you will support our company’s strategic growth objective in the Australian renewable energy market. This role is responsible for growing sales and the sales pipeline, unlocking the full sales potential of our Key Accounts (KAs) through cross-business unit coordination, strategic relationship management, and market insight.
With the ongoing retirement of coal fired power, supportive government policies and an uplift in investor confidence, Australia is positioned for strong renewable energy and grid growth over the coming decade. This role is critical to ensuring we are well-positioned to capture this market momentum, deepen strategic customer relationships, and deliver integrated solutions aligned with client and market needs.

About The Role

Primary Tasks Of This Role
- Grow both sales and the sales pipeline especially with Key Accounts.
- Positioning DNV as ’front of mind’ with customers.
- Help shape and drive our Australian market sales strategy.
- Develop and execute strategies for managing the sales pipeline, lead generation, contract negotiations, and order intake throughout APAC region.
- Identify potential customers, establish new partnerships.
- Build and nurture trusted business relationships with both current and new customers to foster long-term partnerships.
- Ensure smooth coordination with our customers and internal stakeholders to support successful execution of projects and help deliver on commitments.

About You
- Educated to at least degree level bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Experienced in dealing with customers, business development and sales.
- Experience in renewables, storage and power grids (onshore & offshore wind, solar PV, grid, battery. storage), with an established network of contacts in the Australian renewable energy industry.
- Experience in managing a CRM system e.g. Salesforce.
- Experience with the development, construction or related financing of Renewables or power grids for utility-scale wind, solar and storage projects.
- Exceptional commercial awareness and results-orientated mindset.
- Communicate effectively, pragmatic, builds strong relationships and can influence.
- Ability to create trust through robust delivery and strong relationship building.
- Demonstrate foresight – know what is happening in the market, how will it impact us and what do we do to adapt to it.
- Be self-motivated, resilient and cope with work pressure.
- 15+ years’ experience of Renewables and/or grid in Australia (of which ideally at least 5 years in a commercial/sales-oriented role).
- Proven track record driving full sales lifecycle with a special focus on business development and lead-generation strategies.
- Demonstrable ability to build and maintain a strong professional network
- Excellent pitching skills.
- Excellent planning skills and ability to work in fast- paced and customer-centric environment while delivering high-quality work.
- Operational/Sales mindset and focuses on client relationship building.
- Normal office environment, regular walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing and reaching.
- Domestic (and some international) travel to other company office locations, site locations, client offices and conferences.
- Occasional work outdoors including site visits, traveling by car and walking on uneven terrain.
