Raging Waters Sydney - First Aid Coordinator

About The Role

The First Aid Coordinator will have primary responsibility of overseeing the First Aid treatment room at Raging Waters and ensuring that policies and procedures are adhered to. They will ensure that all documentation is completed correctly and report directly to the Operations Manager. The First Aid Coordinator will be responsible for the induction and training of incoming First Aid Officers and upholding Raging Waters Sydney Policies and Procedures at all times.

They will be responsible for rostering of First Aid Officers, maintenance, stock control and replenishment of first aid supplies. As a member of a highly professional team, the First Aid Officer works collaboratively with all relevant staff to ensure the effective and efficient administration and delivery of all facets of First Aid services within Raging Waters Sydney.

The First Aid Officer ensures the First Aid Treatment Room is a welcoming, supportive, effective, and efficient environment for all team members, contractors, and guests. They will also provide some administrative support associated with incident reporting, and other clerical tasks as required.

The First Aid Officer will be self-motivated and professionally presented and require a ‘hands-on’ approach with the ability to work as a part of a team. The First Aid Officer needs to possess excellent communication skills and be innovative and enthusiastic.

Roles & Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Being an ambassador for Raging Waters Sydney and enforcing all Policies and Standard Operating Procedures and those of Parques Reunidos.
  • Willingness to accept the most effective role while leading the team by example and with integrity.
  • Monitor and motivate team members to achieve a high standard of guest service within the First Aid Department.
  • Conduct training and assess competency of Team Members to assist in team development and training to maintain Raging Waters operational and presentation standards.
  • Ensure presentation standards and cleanliness are adhered to in all working areas.
  • Ensure systems, process and practices are in place to enable team members to effectively discharge their roles.
  • Partake in decision making around all elements of the First Aid Team.
  • Report any issues that may affect the other department operations to the Manager on Duty.
  • Monitor, maintain and correct staffing levels as specified in line schedules for all operational days.
  • Coordinating staffing levels on operational days and non-operational days utilising Quinyx scheduling system.
  • Review, check accuracy and process team member timekeeping as per the set procedure.

First Aid

  • Attending to ill or injured team members, contractors, and guests.
  • Be able to keep calm during emergency situations and provide efficient care.
  • Ability to assess guest and team member medical conditions and figure out an appropriate course of treatment quickly and accurately.
  • Ensure the level of care is appropriate and in accordance with ANZCOR Guidelines and other peak bodies for the provision of First Aid in Australia.
  • Maintaining and update records of team member medical conditions and allergies.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records for all injuries.
  • Assist with entering all types of incidents into the software system, including pool rescue and security incidents.
  • Complete all reporting in a timely manner and investigate accidents/incidents as necessary in conjunction with the People & Culture Director and Director of Operations, or any other member of the management team.
  • Identify hazards in the working environment and initiate risk assessments.
  • Conduct follow-up calls to guests to help meet Raging Waters Sydney’s public liability obligations.
  • Conduct follow-up calls to team members if directed by People & Culture Director.
  • Maintaining resources, equipment and stock relating to health and first aid.
  • Participate in Emergency response training (ERT) training/drills as directed by the Operations Manager including debriefing sessions.
  • Maintain a positive work relationship with all members of the team to build a relationship of confidence and trust critical to the effective and efficient handling of an emergency.
  • At times, carry out delegated duties requiring little or no supervision.
  • To assist in the development, implementation, delivery and review of workplace health and safety policy and procedures that ensure Raging Waters Sydney meets its various obligations.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, delivery and review of policy and procedures that ensure Raging Waters Sydney meets its various obligations including financial, workplace health and safety, industry, and legal requirements.
  • Responsible for assisting with first aid cleanliness including sweeping, emptying bins, sanitising and cleaning of surface areas, work areas and first aid restroom.
  • Assist with administration tasks as directed.
  • Perform other duties as required and directed by the Management of Raging Waters Sydney.
  • To carry out all duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Manager, Director of Operations, People & Culture Director, or member of the Management Team.

Workplace Health & Safety (WHS)

  • Follow and comply with Work Health Safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Correctly use all safety and personal protective equipment
  • Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviours.
  • Report WHS incidents, injuries and safety activities to your direct Manager and First Aid at the time it occurs.
  • Promote proactive hazard/ near miss reporting. Report any hazards or near-miss incidents to your direct Manager and the People & Culture Director.
  • Attend Work Group Meetings to discuss and promote safety.
  • Liaise with Return-to-Work Coordinator to assist injured team members returning to work.

Experience

  • Experience in scheduling and rostering management.
  • Previous experience in training and advising others.
  • Intermediate computer skills, with competency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and SharePoint).
  • Experience as a First Aid Officer or in a similar role as an Event Medic.
  • Computer and data entry experience.

Experience in managing and/or contributing to First Aid responses.
