As a very experienced Service Designer, you will be accountable, under broad direction, to undertake very complex work that delivers quality outcomes across the Participant Experience Design functions of this very well-known Federal Government organisation. You will take on team leadership responsibilities and will have authority and responsibility to resolve issues and risks across wide-ranging activities.
The role will see you:
- Provide leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for the team.
- Manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships and often represent and negotiate to advance the Departments interests across a range of forums.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of the current state service through design and research, identifying current participant and staff experience and business processes.
- Maintain process design improvement including evaluating proposed solutions and design at both a conceptual and tactical level.
- Advocating for the voice and experience of all through work processes.
- Facilitate design-thinking sessions with service users, designing and testing future experiences.
- Overseeing end-to-end service experiences, ensuring changes are based on everyone’s needs and are consistent for all users across different touchpoints
You will bring to the role:
- Australian Citizenship and ability to gain Baseline Security Clearance
- Proficiency in conducting qualitative and quantitative research to gather user insights, particularly from diverse and vulnerable populations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate design ideas and concepts to stakeholders and team members.
- Ability to create prototypes and mock-ups to visualise service concepts and improvements, specifically within the Figma Design tool.
- Familiarity with design thinking methodologies and tools, with a focus on iterative improvement and user feedback.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address complex service design challenges within the constraints of existing schemes.
The role is initially offered on a 12-month contract with a possible 12-month extension. Working arrangements are hybrid, requiring 3 days per week in the office.
