About The Role
The Accessibility Community Education Program Advisor is positioned within the Operations group and is responsible for leading the development and delivery of a community education program that promote accessibility and inclusion across V/Line’s regional transport network.
You will work closely with community groups and stakeholders to raise awareness, increase passenger confidence, and support a more inclusive and accessible public transport experience for all Victorians.

About The Role
The Accessibility Community Education Program Advisor is positioned within the Operations group and is responsible for leading the development and delivery of a community education program that promote accessibility and inclusion across V/Line’s regional transport network.
You will work closely with community groups and stakeholders to raise awareness, increase passenger confidence, and support a more inclusive and accessible public transport experience for all Victorians.
Key accountabilities include:
- Lead the development and delivery of a tailored community education program that promotes accessibility and encourages the use of V/Line services across diverse groups.
- Engage with people with disabilities, senior groups, school-aged children, and culturally and linguistically diverse communities to build skills and confidence in using public transport.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with local councils, community organisations, disability service providers, and key internal stakeholders to meet community needs.
- Collaborate with V/Line’s Accessibility Reference Group, Department of Transport and Planning, and other partners to align and enhance program impact.
- Gather and analyse community feedback to continuously improve the education program.
- Plan and deliver inclusive communication campaigns to raise awareness and understanding of V/Line services.
You bring empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills to your work, fostering collaboration and trust with diverse communities and stakeholders. With experience in disability, accessibility, or community engagement roles, you are committed to accessibility and delivering outcomes that make a real difference.
Our ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Experience working in disability, accessibility, or community engagement roles, with a strong understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive practices that respect diverse lived experiences.
- Skilled in designing and delivering training programs, engagement initiatives and events.
- Demonstrated project coordination or management skills, with a strategic approach and the ability to anticipate community needs and emerging trends.
- Confident communicator with the ability to develop inclusive messaging and foster collaborative relationships with stakeholders, community groups, government agencies, and service providers.
- Familiarity with V/Line, regional Victoria, or the broader public transport network is highly regarded.
- Tertiary qualifications in Disability, Education, Learning and Development, or a related field (desirable).
- Demonstrated alignment with V/Line’s values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership, and human rights.
