About the role
The role involves assisting the Credit & Fixed Income Portfolio Managers by conducting, documenting, and communicating credit analysis of issuers across various sectors, including corporate and banking. Additionally, the role requires carrying out ad hoc research on credit risks, credit markets, industry sectors, and relevant themes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and document credit review submissions, providing insightful opinions on credit assessment and portfolio suitability.
- Perform timely periodic reviews of credit opinions to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Prepare detailed briefs on specific credits, transactions, and sub-sector themes.
- Keep portfolio managers informed with updates on analysis, events, and implications for issuers and portfolios.
- Analyse financial statements, ratings agency reports, investor presentations, and industry research.
- Attend issuer briefings and presentations to stay informed on market trends.
- Oversee general credit risk management.
- Handle ad hoc tasks as required.
What We're Looking For:
- Degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business.
- Post-tertiary and/or industry qualifications are highly regarded.
- Strong analytical skills and high numeracy with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in effectively presenting investment rationale.
- Solid Excel skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proven ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- At least 3-5 years of credit analysis experience in asset management, rating agencies, and/or banking.
