VicRoads is progressing too. In August 2022, we started on a new chapter when the Victorian State Government partnered with Aware Super, Australian Retirement Trust, and Macquarie Asset Management to operate registration and licensing services on its behalf.

We work collaboratively with the Victorian State Government to ensure we fulfill regulatory requirements, deliver State projects and safeguard customer data. The Victorian State Government retains sole responsibility for road access, infrastructure and safety.

About the opportunity

We are seeking a Lead Product Designer champion in best practice design for all mobile platforms to join our Product and Experience team, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping how Victorians interact with our services. This role offers an opportunity to combine hands-on design expertise with leadership, driving innovation and delivering impactful solutions that meet customer needs while aligning with organisational objectives. With a revitalised focus on our mobile applications, this is your chance to lead the design of a key digital channel and influence how millions Victorians engage with our services daily.

About you

  • 5+ years of combined product design and leadership experience, with a proven track record of guiding multidisciplinary teams and delivering impactful outcomes.
  • Self-Directed and Accountable. You take ownership of tasks and outcomes, demonstrating initiative and a commitment to delivering high-quality results while holding yourself accountable for decisions and actions.
  • Expert facilitator, adept at leading workshops, design sprints, and collaborative sessions to align teams, surface insights, and drive strategic outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Deep expertise in research-driven, user-centred design methodologies, seamlessly integrating insights into every stage of the design lifecycle.
  • Thrive in dynamic, evolving environments, bringing a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
