Build your career at Iress!

The Data Platform Team is at the forefront of our data strategy, responsible for building and maintaining a robust and scalable infrastructure that enables Iress to build innovative data products. Our mission is to empower teams by providing them with the right tools, technologies, and data architecture necessary to build solutions for our customers.

As the Data Governance Officer for the ICA business unit, your primary responsibility will be to establish and manage data governance specifically for the data ingestion effort. You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, integrity, security, and compliance of the data ingested into the Data Lake. This position is essential for supporting safe and scalable data product development, aligning with future AI readiness requirements, and enabling sustainable long-term operations. You will define and implement the necessary frameworks to transform raw data into a strategic data asset that can be leveraged and monetised.

Some of the awesome things you’ll be involved with:

  • Set up and manage the data governance framework specifically tailored for the ICA data ingestion initiative.
  • Define and implement frameworks for data quality, metadata management, access control, and lineage tracking.
  • Ensure data in the Cleaned/Governed layer meets compliance and usage standards required for production-ready data products.
  • Contribute to maintaining high standards of data quality and integrity across the data platform layers populated by the ingestion pipelines.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and other stakeholders to embed data governance principles into the data ingestion and transformation processes.
  • Enable the availability and trustworthy use of data for high-value data products
  • Support the operational readiness of the data platform from a governance perspective for future product scale-up.

What You Will Bring

  • Strong understanding of data governance principles and frameworks.
  • Experience with data quality management, metadata management, data lineage, and access control concepts and tools.
  • Familiarity with concepts related to data warehousing, data lakes, or lakehouses.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive governance adoption.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to define and document data standards, policies, and procedures.
  • A desire to work in a collaborative, intellectually curious environment.
  • Experience in a similar data governance or data quality focused role is beneficial. The cost profile suggests a role level comparable to the permanent Data Engineers.

Why work with us?

  • Generous cash bonus for every successful referral
  • Starting school leave - 8.5 days of leave to assist your children with the transition to school
